Angel Reese has a message for anyone who thought LSU’s nonconference schedule was “too weak” to prepare the team for the Final Four.

In a TikTok celebrating LSU’s Elite Eight win against Miami, the Tigers star poked fun at those who doubted her squad. Then she backed it up on Twitter, responding to her own TikTok video, “I SAID WHAT I SAID.”

Reese has played a big part in LSU’s success this year, posting an SEC-record 32 double-doubles. That total includes Sunday’s game, in which she contributed 13 points and 18 rebounds en route to No. 3 seed LSU’s 54-42 win against No. 9 seed Miami.

The sophomore forward transferred to LSU from Maryland last offseason in search of what she has called “a fresh start.” And the journey to the Final Four began the minute she stepped on campus.

“I think it started when I got here in July. I had a plan just for me and then going within the team, they had a plan for the team,” Reese said after the win, referring to head coach Kim Mulkey and her staff, who have brought LSU to the Final Four in their second season in Baton Rouge.

“We had nine new pieces. This is year two for her,” Reese continued. “So just being able to be the underdogs all year, and played that role. We were underdogs all year. And then now to be in this moment, it’s just so joyful and exciting because it’s like we worked hard and we did everything that Coach said and now look at us.”
