USA Basketball is stocking up, entering this weekend's FIBA 3×3 Champions Cup armed with an experienced women's roster showcasing extensive small-sided bonafides.

Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Allisha Gray leads the squad, with the Atlanta Dream guard and newly crowned 2026 Unrivaled champion joined by three other WNBA and Unrivaled standouts.

Fellow Dream guard Naz Hillmon and Gray's Mist BC teammate Veronica Burton (Golden State Valkyries) made the cut, with USA Basketball rounding out it's Monday lineup drop with forward Shakira Austin (Washington Mystics, Rose BC).

The exact same quartet won the 2025 FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup, arriving to compete in the second-ever Champions Cup — and the first to feature the US women — with additional 5×5 experience at both the youth and senior team level in tow.

This year's FIBA Champions Cup runs from Friday through Sunday in Bangkok, with the Netherlands, Spain, Canada, Australia, Azerbaijan, Madagascar, and host Thailand joining Team USA on the 3×3 court.

Following two days of pool play, the top two teams in each group will advance to Sunday's knockout rounds.

Along with this weekend's trophy, the tournament champions will also qualify for the 2027 FIBA 3×3 World Cup, 2027 FIBA 3×3 Champions Cup, and the 2028 Olympic Qualification Tournament.

The US women's basketball team will open Champions Cup play against Madagascar at 10:20 AM ET on Friday before taking on the Netherlands and Australia on Saturday at 7:30 AM ET and 9:30 AM ET, respectively.

All games in the tournament will stream live on YouTube.

Team USA is coming in hot, releasing their full 232-player 2026 Olympic roster as the largest US contingent in history gears up for February's Winter Games in Italy.

"Right and left, we have just so many people able to get on the podium at these Games," said speed skater Erin Jackson, as she gears up to defend her 500-meter gold medal in her third Olympic appearance. "I'm really excited."

Between the men's and women's events, 98 of the participating US athletes are returning Olympians, including 33 previous podium finishers — 18 of them gold medalists.

Even more, seven members of Team USA are entering their fifth Winter Games, including decorated alpine skier Lindsey Vonn, hockey captain Hilary Knight, snowboarder Faye Thelen, and bobsled teammates Kaillie Armbruster Humphries and Elana Meyers Taylor.

"I think my age is a big advantage actually," Vonn told reporters. "I have been in that start gate more than anyone else that's in the starting gate."

Meanwhile, the 134 fresh faces will look to have an immediate impact on the Olympic medal table for Team USA, including athletes like 20-year-old Stanford soccer defender and US cross-country skiier Sammy Smith and 15-year-old halfpipe freestyle skiier Abby Winterberger — the youngest member of the 2026 US roster.

The 2026 Winter Olympics officially kick off in Italy on February 6th, though a few events — including curling and women's hockey — will get underway on February 4th and 5th.

The world No. 2 USWNT is getting the band back together, as head coach Emma Hayes named her 26-player roster ahead of the team's January friendlies against No. 46 Paraguay and No. 47 Chile.

Forward Trinity Rodman will join the squad for the first time since April 2025, after an MCL sprain limited her NWSL postseason availability last fall.

"When it comes to the playing front, I don't know where she's at [physically]," Hayes told reporters following Thursday's roster drop. "But if she gives me the thumbs-up, which she has done, to say, 'I'm good, I'm in a good place,' I have to take that at her word."

With the January USWNT camp taking place outside one of the official FIFA windows, only NWSL-based players were available for roster selection, with Gotham FC athletes also getting a pass due to their upcoming FIFA W Champions Cup commitments in London.

Averaging just 6.6 caps per player, this month's lineup continues Hayes's trend of elevating fresh talent, as the manager tapped four first-timers in forwards Maddie Dahlien (Seattle Reign) and Reilyn Turner (Portland Thorns), and midfielders Riley Jackson (North Carolina Courage) and Sally Menti (Seattle Reign).

"Once again, our roster presents opportunity, for the coaching staff to evaluate players and for some NWSL players we haven't seen as much in the National Team environment, as well as for some first-time call-ups, to show they can contribute in 2026, 2027, or beyond," said Hayes.

How to watch the USWNT friendlies this January

Hayes will first test her January roster against Paraguay at 5:30 PM ET on Saturday, January 24th, airing live on TNT.

The USWNT will then take on Chile at 10 PM ET on Tuesday, January 27th, with live coverage airing on TBS.

USA Hockey is sending a refreshed lineup to Italy this winter, with Friday's 23-player Olympic roster tapping both newcomers and seasoned veterans looking to avenge 2022's silver-medal finish.

US hockey legend Hilary Knight will play in her fifth — and final — Winter Games next month, with the 36-year-old forward joining fellow veteran mainstays Kendall Coyne Schofield and Lee Stecklein as just 11 players return from the team's Beijing campaign.

After falling just short of gold in Beijing, this year's USA hockey roster balances youth with experience, heading to Milan with a full dozen Olympic debutants, including seven college players — a full four from reigning NCAA champion Wisconsin.

All other 16 athletes currently compete in the PWHL with the pro league sending players from five of its eight teams to join the US squad in February.

The rest of the team focuses on young talent, including University of Wisconsin defender Laila Edwards, who will make history as USA Hockey's first-ever Black woman Olympian when she steps on the ice in Italy.

"It still hasn't really kicked in yet. Getting that call is like a dream come true," said Edwards.

The USA will open their 2026 Olympic campaign against Czechia at 10:40 AM ET on February 5th before subsequent Group A games against Finland, Switzerland, and defending champions Canada.

The clash will air live on USA Network as part of the full 2026 Olympic Games coverage across NBC platforms.

The USWNT is getting the band back together this October, as manager Emma Hayes tapped a number of veteran faces in a 26-player roster for the team's upcoming three international friendlies on Wednesday morning.

The team's European-based players are stepping back into the spotlight, after Hayes chose to rest stars Lindsey Heaps, Lily Yohannes, Emily Fox, Phallon Tullis-Joyce, and Catarina Macario during the summer.

However, sidelined Chelsea defender Naomi Girma will sit this one out as she continues to recover from a calf injury.

The roster also highlights the return of favorites Trinity Rodman, Rose Lavelle, and Jaedyn Shaw, as Hayes also calls up 24-year-old San Diego Wave defender Kennedy Wesley for the first time.

As next fall's qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup quickly approach, Hayes is narrowing the field from her previous developmentally focused roster-building strategy.

"I think this was the one camp I had to make some really hard decisions, and that's the place I wanted to be in," Hayes told reporters on Wednesday morning. "It's the build for [World Cup] qualification for next year."

With an average age of 24.6, the latest squad reflects the US's youth movement, though Lavelle's return helps boost the average international experience from 18.4 caps in this summer's USWNT roster to 27.3 appearances on Hayes's October lineup.

How to watch the October USWNT friendlies

The world No. 2 USWNT will first take on No. 23 Portugal at 7 PM ET on October 23rd and at 4 PM ET on the 26th, before closing out the international window against No. 33 New Zealand at 8 PM ET on October 29th.

All three friendlies will air live on TNT.

England dropped its 2025 Euro roster on Thursday morning, with manager Sarina Wiegman's title-defending squad facing major shakeups after three longtime staples recently withdrew from consideration.

Forward Fran Kirby and goalkeeper Mary Earps officially announced their international retirements mere days before the drop, with Wiegman previously informing 31-year-old Kirby of her omission from this summer's lineup.

Defender Millie Bright followed suit, stepping back from the team in a Wednesday social media post that stated she's "not able to give 100% mentally or physically."

While these shifts don't necessarily spell defeat, England now faces an uphill climb in their hunt for a second straight European title.

The Lionesses will start their campaign in Group D, a tricky division featuring perennial powerhouses France and the Netherlands plus regional rival Wales.

To further complicate things, England is also coming off a rocky Nations League run, failing to qualify for this year's Finals after finishing second behind Group A3 winner — and 2023 World Cup champs — Spain.

Though their 2025 Euro roster is missing some homegrown talent, the England lineup does feature a handful of NWSL stars stepping into the spotlight.

Washington defender Esme Morgan will make her Euro debut after helping lead the Lionesses to the 2023 World Cup final, while Gotham defender Jess Carter and Orlando goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse return to the competition to defend their 2022 success.

All in all, with a refreshed roster and increased parity across the women's game, the Lionesses' path to 2025 Euro victory is now more uncertain than ever.
