The Phoenix Mercury are hoping to flush their lopsided Game 3 loss to the Chicago Sky in preparation for the team’s must-win Game 4 in Chicago.

The Sky dominated Friday’s WNBA Finals matchup, shooting 50 percent from the field to the Mercury’s 25.8 percent while pushing the series to 2-1.

“All year we’ve faced adversity, and we have a veteran group. We’ll go back and look at it and see what changes we can make,” said Phoenix guard Skylar Diggins-Smith following Game 3. “We don’t have a choice. We’ve got to win. We have to win from here on out. We understand that. It’s going to be a lot to digest.”

For Diana Taurasi, it comes down to the team’s resolve. “You lose by 40, you lose by one, it’s one game,” said Taurasi, “But there has to be a sense of urgency, obviously, in the next game, of playing with more intent. Today we didn’t do that.”

Diggins-Smith echoed Taurasi, saying, “we’ve got to bring it” in Game 4.

“Like D said, it was one game, it was ugly as hell. They were the aggressors. Give them all the credit, and let’s play on Sunday. That’s all we can really do.”

Game 4 of the WNAB Finals tips off at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN, when the Chicago Sky will have a chance to clinch their first-ever WNBA championship.
