The Washington Spirit picked up their third straight win Saturday night, downing OL Reign 2-0 on the road in Tacoma.
Taylor Aylmer struck first for the Spirit with a stunning one-touch chip to put her side up 1-0 in the 22nd minute. The finish was Aylmer’s first professional goal in her first NWSL start.

Ashley Hatch doubled Washington’s lead in the 59th minute with a long-range laser. The second-half goal is Hatch’s tenth on the season, propelling her to the top of the NWSL’s Golden Boot race.

OL Reign’s loss keeps the NWSL Shield in play, with their Cascadia rivals, the Portland Thorns, still in the mix for the league title. Capturing three points in the NWSL standings, the Spirit now sit in third place, just three points behind OL Reign.
