Vivianne Miedema saved Arsenal from their first loss of the Women’s Super League season, notching an extra-time equalizer to secure a 1-1 draw against Tottenham on Saturday.

The Gunners went down 1-0 in the 65th minute, with Rachel Williams knocking in a loose ball for the lead. The Spurs were out-possessed 64 percent to 36 percent and out-shot 19 to 11 but made the most of their chances in their final third.

Tottenham’s defense held steady, denying Arsenal throughout the second half and putting an upset within reach. Then, in extra time, Miedema, FAWSL’s all-time leading scorer, nodded in an Arsenal corner to tie up the game with minutes left on the clock.

The draw puts the Gunners four points clear of Chelsea at the top of the FAWSL standings and moves Tottenham to third, trailing Chelsea by a point.
