South Carolina star Aliyah Boston made a young Gamecocks fan’s day with a simple smile and wave.
The heartwarming interaction all began with the youngster’s father encouraging her to yell out Aliyah’s name. After getting Boston’s attention, the South Carolina star quickly returned the greeting with a smile and a wave. The brief salutation packed a punch, with the little girl clutching her chest as tears began to well up, seemingly overwhelmed by the encounter.
Boston had just wrapped up a monster game against South Carolina, scoring 19 points and grabbing 15 rebounds in the Gamecocks’ 65-45 win.

The Gamecocks star is putting together a remarkable season, averaging 17.3 points and 11.4 rebounds heading into the second half of the 2021-2022 campaign. With 11-straight double-doubles, Boston is hitting her stride, leading her side to an impressive 17-1 record and a No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll.
Boston and South Carolina’s next big test will come when the team hosts No. 9 UConn in Columbia on Thursday, January 27th.
