The Beijing Olympics marks Knight’s fourth Winter Games, after helping Team USA to a gold medal in PyeongChang and back-to-back silver medals in 2010 and 2014. With 219 points across 190 national team appearances, Knight is considered a cornerstone of Team USA. The 32-year-old has also helped her team to a staggering eight World Championship titles, securing her place as one of the most decorated American hockey players in history.
Knight and Team USA kicked off their quest for gold with the squad’s 5-2 preliminary round win over Finland on Thursday, with Knight notching an assist in her Beijing debut.
Also in Group A with Team USA is Canada, considered to be the squad’s biggest competition for the Olympic title in Beijing.
