Dallas snapped a two-game losing streak last night, pulling ahead early to secure a confident 92-69 Mystics vs Wings win over a young and eager Washington side.
Wings guard Paige Bueckers dropped a game-leading 18 points, backed by four additional double-digit Dallas scorers while the host’s stifling defense silenced the Mystics’ top guns.
“We played selfless tonight,” Bueckers said afterwards. “We got out in transition and really moved the ball really well... It was a really good response for our team.”
Dallas rookie Azzi Fudd put up her best numbers yet, scoring 12 off the bench while shouldering the Wings’ fourth-most minutes behind Bueckers, Arike Ogunbowale, and Jessica Shepard.
“I think everyone was excited to see Azzi, and how well she played,” said head coach Jose Fernandez. “I’m glad that now we can continue to increase the minutes. She felt good.”
“My goal was just to be aggressive when I got in the game, contribute any way I could,” said Fudd.
