Chicago Sky star Rickea Jackson tore her left ACL and will not return this season, the team announced Tuesday.
The 25-year-old forward, who leads Chicago in scoring, sustained the injury in Sunday's win over the Minnesota Lynx, with Jackson's left leg giving way on a drive toward the hoop. Medical staff attended to her on the court, before helping her to the locker room for additional evaluation.
"We're devastated that Rickea suffered this injury, but we are confident she will make a full recovery," Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca said in a team statement.
"Rickea was playing at an All-Star and All-Defensive level early in the season. We are certain she was primed for a career year."
Jackson paces the Sky's offense at 18 points per game this season. LA selected the University of Tennessee product fourth overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, with Jackson spending her first two professional seasons with the Sparks. Chicago subsequently brought her in last month, sending Ariel Atkins to LA in the high-profile WNBA trade.
Rickea Jackson Lands on Growing Chicago Sky Injury List
Jackson's ACL tear compounds Chicago's mounting injury concerns. DiJonai Carrington, Azura Stevens, and Courtney Vandersloot remain sidelined and have yet to appear in 2026. Fellow offseason addition Skylar Diggins also sat out the Minnesota game with an eye problem.
The loss strips Chicago of its primary offensive threat for a team already struggling with roster availability during the 2026 WNBA season.
