The latest women's tennis world rankings are out, and the post-Wimbledon reshuffle brought meaningful movement for two of WTA tennis's most prominent players.
Jessica Pegula Matches Women's Tennis World Ranking Career-High
Jessica Pegula climbed one spot to No. 3 after reaching the quarterfinals at the All England Club. The ranking matches her career high, a position she last held exactly one year ago.
Pegula's grass-court run ended against fellow US star Coco Gauff, but the result still delivered a significant rankings boost.
Naomi Osaka Eyes Top 10 Ranking After Deep Wimbledon Run
Naomi Osaka, meanwhile, rose one place to No. 13 on the heels of her first career Wimbledon quarterfinal.
Along the way, the four-time Grand Slam champion knocked off reigning world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the fourth round. That victory marked her third career win over a top-ranked player. At 28, she continues to narrow the gap on the top 10.
The movement extended further down the list, too.
Wimbledon champion Linda Nosková and finalist Karolína Muchová both reached new career highs inside the Top 10. The WTA rankings shakeup is setting up a competitive hard-court season which launches with the National Bank Open in Toronto.
