Ta'Niya Latson's WNBA journey continues as the South Carolina standout trades the West Coast for the Nevada desert. The Las Vegas Aces signed the rookie guard to a developmental contract on Wednesday, adding backcourt depth to a roster already in flux.
Latson the Latest in Las Vegas Aces Roster Moves
The move comes one day after Las Vegas waived veteran guard Chennedy Carter. It also follows a string of recent WNBA roster moves for the three-time champions, including the signing of forward Justine Pissott to a rest-of-season deal.
Latson was originally selected No. 20 overall by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2026 WNBA Draft. She appeared in 10 games but averaged just 1.8 points before Los Angeles waived her on July 6th.
Still, her college resume speaks for itself.
She led the nation with 25.2 points per game as a junior at Florida State, then transferred to South Carolina, where she helped the Gamecocks reach the 2026 NCAA championship.
Now, Latson's Aces chapter gives her a chance to develop alongside four-time MVP and fellow South Carolina vet A'ja Wilson. For Las Vegas, the signing also adds young scoring potential to a bench gearing up for a postseason push.
The Aces are slated to take on the Portland Fire tonight at 10 PM ET on WNBA League Pass.
