Khiara Keating has joined Liverpool FC Women on a permanent deal, adding the England goalkeeper to the WSL football club's growing summer rebuild.
The 22-year-old signed a three-year contract after her Manchester City deal expired, making her the Reds' fourth signing of the window. She will wear the No. 12 shirt.
Why England Goalkeeper Khiara Keating Moved to Liverpool
The move reunites Keating with Liverpool head coach Gareth Taylor, who oversaw her senior breakthrough at City. Still, the transfer is about more than familiarity. Keating lost her starting spot last season to Japan's Ayaka Yamashita and needed consistent minutes to stay in the England football picture ahead of next summer's Women's World Cup.
"I needed that missing piece of the puzzle," Keating said. "I think Liverpool can be that — somewhere I'm playing week-in, week-out and I'm getting good game time."
Keating won the WSL Golden Glove in 2023/24 and earned her senior Lionesses debut in October 2025. She was tapped by England football manager Sarina Wiegman for the team's World Cup Qualifying matches in June, but missed playing time due to a concussion.
Now at Merseyside, she'll compete immediately in the starting role. For Liverpool, landing a proven goalkeeper on a free transfer strengthens their defense. It's a signing that could define their season.
