The Chicago Sky are on a tear.

The team extended their win streak to a franchise-best five games on Saturday with a 91-81 victory over the Connecticut Sun.

Courtney Vandersloot led scoring for the Sky with 18 points, shooting 60 percent from the field and draining both of her attempted threes. Vandersloot contributed 11 rebounds as well to secure her fifth double-double of the season.

Diamond DeShields put up 14 points for Chicago, while Allie Quigley and Ruthy Hebard each scored 13 points. The Sky weathered a ten-point Connecticut surge in the third quarter, kick-starting their transition offense down the stretch to take the lead.

In the post-game press conference, Hebard spoke to the importance of Candace Parker’s presence on the court, returning from injury to revive the Sky’s season.

“Candace has always been in my ear telling me what to do, coaching me. I have great people around me to help me out,” said Hebard.

Brionna Jones recorded a career-high 22 points for the Sun, shooting 62.5 percent from the field. DeWanna Bonner followed close behind with 17 points, contributing eight rebounds and six assists to Connecticut’s effort. However, depth proved to be an issue once again for the Sun, with only ten points coming from off the bench.

The Sky are now 2-0 against the Sun. The two teams will play in their third regular-season matchup on June 27.
