Faith Kipyegon of Kenya is once again an Olympic champion.

Kipyegon defended her Olympic title in the 1,500 in an Olympic record time of 3:53.11. Laura Muir of Britain ran a 3:54.50 to take silver.

Sifan Hassan managed to hang on to bronze in a time of 3:55.86. After winning gold in the 5,000-meters, Hassan still has the opportunity to join rare air if she were to win a third medal in the 10,000-meter final on Saturday.
