The NWSL and BreakingT announced Wednesday that they have entered into a deal that will help bring new apparel to fans.

As part of the deal, which is tabbed as a “first-of-its-kind licensed apparel agreement,” the NWSL will be able to commercialize “its most exciting teams, players and moments” with BreakingT’s merchandise capabilities.

For BreakingT, it’s their first major pro league license in its eight-year history. The group is also licensed by the NWSLPA and other players’ associations as well as more than 60 college institutions.

“We’ve been celebrating and merchandising the most exciting moments in women’s sports for years thanks to our partnerships with pro players associations. Now we get to do that in a bigger way with the NWSL, which is one of the fastest growing leagues in America,” BreakingT President Jamie Mottram said. “Investing in women’s sports is good for business, and we’re committed to dedicating our time and resources to bring world-class merch to NWSL fans.”

Utilizing CrowdBreak, BreakingT aims to identify trends and fan moments to help release fan apparel quickly to be sold online and in retail stores nationwide. The first NWSL collection will be released July 8 and available online in NWSL team stores and on BreakingT.com. Select merchandise will be available in retailers and at NWSL stadiums.

“BreakingT is the leader in real-time sports merch, and they have a proven track record of supporting women’s sports,” NWSL Managing Director of Business Affairs Aaron Salsberg said. “We’re excited to partner with them and see how their model can be applied to the NWSL to bring our fans closer to the most exciting moments throughout the NWSL season.”
