Perfection was on the platform Thursday in Tokyo.

Fourteen-year-old Quan Hongchan of China delivered two perfect dives to win a gold medal in the women’s 10-meter platform event.

Her second and fourth dives in the five-round competition received perfect 10s. The fifth dive earned her an Olympic-record 466.20 points.

Quan is now the second-youngest Chinese gold medalist in the event. Fu Mingxia won it in 1992 at the age of 13.

Teammate and 2019 world champion Chen Yuxi claimed silver with a final score of 425.40 points. Australia’s Melissa Wu took home the bronze.

American Delaney Schnell placed fifth, marking Team USA’s best finish since Laura Wilkinson also finished fifth at the 2004 Olympics.
