Abby Dahlkemper makes first Houston Dash start

In her first game with the Houston Dash, Abby Dahlkemper got her first start in orange.

Dahlkemper went in at centerback, pushing Megan Oyster to fullback.

The defender was traded to the Dash following her return to the NWSL from Manchester City. However, reports from both teams indicate that Dahlkemper is only on loan from the North Carolina Courage and will return to the Courage upon the conclusion of the season.

Following the game, Houston coach James Clarkson said he was pleased with Dahlkemper’s performance. The USWNT star has not yet had a full training session with the Dash.

The Dash are back in action on Sunday against the Orlando Pride at 4 p.m. ET.
