Adrianna Franch is officially leaving Portland.
The Thorns confirmed the news, originally reported by The Athletic, that Franch had been traded to Kansas City NWSL in exchange for goalkeeper Abby Smith and $150,000 in allocation money.
Franch has played with the Thorns since 2016, taking home two NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year awards during her tenure with the club.
On Tuesday, the veteran goalkeeper took to Twitter to thank the Thorns community, writing that Portland “won over” her heart.

“The decision to go to Kansas City was not an easy one but I am looking forward to this opportunity to return to my home state and start a new chapter with my family.”
