Allyson Felix is now the most decorated female track and field athlete of all time.
Felix, 35, won bronze in the 400 meters Friday at the Tokyo Olympics with a time of 49.46 seconds. Shaunae Miller-Uibo of the Bahamas defended her gold medal from Rio, winning the race in 48.36. Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic took silver, finishing in 49.46.
Felix’s time marks the fastest she has run the 400m since 2015 and the fastest anyone has run it her age or older.

Felix’s 10 medals tie her with Carl Lewis for the most Olympic medals in U.S. track and field history.
Lewis congratulated Felix on an “amazing career” in a Twitter post.

Felix has the opportunity to surpass Lewis on Saturday, when she is expected to run in the women’s 4×400-meter relay final.
