LSU star Angel Reese is headed to the WNBA, declaring on Wednesday that she’ll enter the 2024 draft.
In a post on social media, Reese referenced a simultaneously-published Vogue article, in which she told the fashion magazine that she is taking her talents to the next level.
“BAYOU BARBIE⏩WNBA,” she wrote. “all that rah-rah never was the icon issue. Magazines, i’m covering the icon issue…VOGUE, I got REAL issues.💋”

In the Vogue article, Reese notes that she likes “to do everything big.”
“I’ve done everything I wanted to in college,” Reese told Vogue. “I’ve won a national championship, I’ve gotten [Southeastern Conference] Player of the Year, I’ve been an All-American. My ultimate goal is to be a pro—and to be one of the greatest basketball players to play, ever. I feel like I'm ready.”
Reese ends her college career having set a number of records, including the NCAA single-season record for double-doubles. The LSU star told Vogue that her college career, which included a national championship with LSU last season, has “been crazy.”
Despite having another year of eligibility, Reese said that she wants to embrace the next challenge, which the WNBA will pose. Nothing in her life, she says, she wants to be easy.
“I want to start at the bottom again,” she said. “I want to be a rookie again and build myself back up; I want to be knocked down and learn and grow at the next level.
“I’ll be working with women that have kids, women that have a family to feed. I’m going to have to work my butt off every single day and grind. And who wouldn’t want that? I don’t want anything in my life to be easy.”
