Azzi Fudd continues to cash in on name, image and likeness rights before playing in her first game for UConn, this time signing a deal with BioSteel as an ambassador and partner.
“I’m so excited to join the BioSteel team,” Fudd told Yahoo Sports. “I’m really picky about the drinks I have and how I stay hydrated and BioSteel is just something I’ve liked for a long time. When they reached out, I thought the opportunity was really cool and something I wanted to be involved with.”

Fudd will receive shares in the company as an equity partner, marking the first arrangement of its kind at the collegiate level. She joins other equity partners such as Patrick Mahomes, Luka Doncic and Christen Press.
“It’s really cool, especially having athletes across different sports represent the brand,” Fudd said. “For someone like me who has always just been focused on basketball and watching the pros on the basketball side, to see other athletes at the top of their game affiliated with BioSteel is really cool.”
It’s Fudd’s second deal in as many months. In October, the UConn freshman became one of two college athletes to sign on as ambassadors for Chipotle’s “Real Food for Real Athletes” platform.
Fudd’s teammate, Paige Bueckers, is also taking advantage of the NCAA’s new NIL opportunities, reaching a deal with StockX on Wednesday.
No. 2 UConn will open its regular season against Arkansas on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
