Elina Svitolina and Linda Noskova both advanced to the Berlin Open quarterfinals on Thursday. Neither Top 10 player needed more than 70 minutes to wrap straight-set wins at the WTA 500 grass-court event.
Elina Svitolina Powers Past Home Favorite Eva Lys
Svitolina, the No. 6 seed, controlled her Round of 16 match against German wildcard Eva Lys from the start. She hit eight aces and 22 winners on the Steffi Graf Stadion grass before closing out a 6-3, 6-2 result in 69 minutes.
Lys pushed late, earning eight break points, but Svitolina saved all but one. The win delivers her eighth quarterfinal of the 2026 WTA season.
Linda Noskova Aces Into Berlin WTA 500 Quarterfinals
Earlier in the day, eighth seed Noskova made even quicker work of French qualifier Diane Parry.
The 21-year-old Czech did not face a single break point across 67 minutes, losing just eight points on serve to secure the 6-2, 6-2 win. Berlin marks her fourth quarterfinal of the year.
Noskova now meets wildcard Paula Badosa in the next round, while Svitolina awaits the winner of No. 2 seed Elena Rybakina vs. Alexandra Eala.
