Coco Gauff is stepping off the singles court and into an ownership role. The world No. 4 will be a player-owner for the Florida Flamingos Racquet Club as World Team Tennis relaunches this December after a five-year hiatus.

The move doubles as a homecoming for the two-time Grand Slam champion. Gauff grew up in Delray Beach and has invested in her local tennis community through court renovations and foundation outreach. She'll now compete at Amerant Bank Arena alongside Tommy Paul, Learner Tien, Brandon Nakashima, Iva Jović, and Eva Lys.
"Growing the sport through team competition and making it more accessible are two things I love, and WTT does both," Gauff said. "I'm looking forward to playing at home in front of my family and friends in South Florida."
Originally co-founded by Billie Jean King in 1974, World Team Tennis returns for its 47th season this year. Three franchises — Florida, New York Empire, and Toronto North — will face off in a format that pairs four singles sets with a mixed-doubles super tiebreaker. Men's and women's players contribute equally to each result.
Gauff is slated to play December 14-15 against Victoria Mboko and Jessica Pegula.
