Coco Gauff booked her spot in the 2026 US Open quarterfinals by scoring a 6-1, 6-4 win against Iva Jovic in Monday's Gauff vs Jovic showdown.
The No. 4 seed needed just an hour and 33 minutes to handle the 18-year-old at Flushing Meadows, returning to the final eight for the first time since winning the title in 2023.

Jovic made things interesting early on, breaking Gauff's serve in the opening game. But the 22-year-old quickly recovered, stealing the next six games to run away with the opener. She finished with 18 winners and just 15 unforced errors to Jovic's 30.
The second set proved tighter, but Gauff earned the decisive break in the sixth game and won three straight to close it out.
"Iva's an incredible player, an incredible talent, she plays beyond her years," Gauff said after the win. "I'm sure we'll be playing a lot more matches in the future."
For Jovic, the No. 14 seed, reaching the second week was a career-best Grand Slam result. She dispatched friend and Filipina phenom Alex Eala to meet Gauff in the Round of 16. But she couldn't match the two-time Grand Slam winner's level on Arthur Ashe.
Gauff now rides a 10-match winning streak. She also hasn't dropped a set through four rounds in Queens.
Up next, Gauff faces No. 5 seed Mirra Andreeva, whom she leads 5-0 head-to-head.
