The Sun made an emphatic return to the court Friday night, winning their season opener in Atlanta against the Dream.
Connecticut came out swinging early, leading the Dream by 5 points at the end of the first quarter.
Jonquel Jones had a standout performance for the Sun, putting up 26 points, 16 of which came in the first half. Friday night’s game was the first time Jones took to the court for the Sun after sitting out last season due to COVID-19 concerns.

After opening their lead up to 43-33 at the half, Connecticut didn’t look back, dominating the remainder of the game.

The Sun’s commanding offensive performance helped the team sail to a 78-67 win over Atlanta.
Next up, the Atlanta Dream will go on the road against Chicago on Wednesday, May 19. Connecticut will look for a win at home when they host Phoenix on Sunday, May 16.
