Following her history-making US Open win, Emma Raducanu’s popularity has continued to soar.

The 18-year-old tennis champion has become the second-most followed tennis player under 30 on Instagram behind only Naomi Osaka (2.8 million), surpassing Nicholas Kyrgios.

Raducanu entered the US Open with just over 400,000 Instagram followers. She now has 1.8 million – a 1.4 million follower jump in just two weeks. That’s more new followers than all of the players who made the fourth round – male or female – combined.

Runner-up Leylah Fernandez gained 255,000 new followers, a significant jump from the 16 thousand she had prior to the tournament. She’s now not far off from the top two ranked players in the world, with Ash Barty sitting at 371,000.

Raducanu’s rapid rise is similar to that of Osaka’s following her historic US Open win in 2018. Now, Osaka is the highest-grossing female athlete in the world, having earned $50 million in endorsements last year.
