Gotham FC named Hue Menzies as the club’s interim head coach on Saturday.

The 2018 Concacaf Women’s Coach of the Year joins Gotham FC following Scott Parkinson’s exit from the team. Menzies will serve as the interim head coach through the end of the 2022 NWSL season.

“I want to thank Yael and ownership for giving me the opportunity to work with such gifted athletes,” Menzies said in a statement. “This is an incredibly committed team and there’s still time left in the season to turn things around. I’m excited to get to know these players and help aid their progress anyway I can.”

Menzies previously served as head coach of Jamaica’s Women’s National Team and the Executive Director of Florida Kraze Krush.

“Hue is a soccer lifer and a true professional with a track record of success when it comes to building programs and developing players,” Gotham FC General Manager Yael Averburch West said. “I’m confident Hue will help our players reach their potential this season while we continue our coaching search.”

Gotham FC has struggled throughout the season, falling short of the team’s preseason expectations following a series of big signings, including Kristie Mewis, Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris. The club currently sits 11th in the NWSL standings behind a 4-8-0 record.
