There isn’t much that is known about Alyse LaHue’s shocking dismissal from Gotham FC.

The team announced the news on Friday, revealing that LaHue had been informed of her dismissal July 9.

Following Sunday’s 3-2 win over the Washington Spirit, both Gotham captain McCall Zerboni and head coach Freya Coombe were asked about LaHue’s dismissal.

“We’ll get through it,” Zerboni said. “It’s nothing other professional teams haven’t dealt with all over the world. Stuff goes on and people have stuff to say about it, but we’re still the same players, we’re still the same people.

“From a player perspective, we’ve been pretty lucky because our front office has handled it very well and just let us think about playing and focus on playing… There’s a lot of stuff going on in the media and whatever, but that doesn’t change who we are and what a great club we are.”

“It’s important for us to just maintain our focus on the game,” Coombe said. “For us to keep our focus going into today and onto the next game.”

Gotham is back in action against the Chicago Red Stars on Sunday, July 25 at 5 p.m. ET.
