Aliyah Boston is opening up about her recovery process following surgery to address a lateral meniscus tear in her right knee last month. The Indiana Fever star shared the details on Wednesday's episode of Post Moves, the podcast she co-hosts with WNBA legend Candace Parker.
At just 24, Boston called this her first procedure of any kind. That unfamiliarity turned even basic tasks into a challenge.
"I'm a do-it-myself person," she said. "So I was yelled at a lot because they were, like, 'You can't.'"
She also described a particularly frustrating part of the process.
"Keeping a leg out of the shower so the stitches don't get wet," she said. "What do you want me to do? I enjoy my showers."
Boston Managed Knee Injury Throughout Fever's WNBA Season
The four-time WNBA All-Star dealt with the meniscus issue throughout the 2026 WNBA season.
Despite that, she managed to suit up for all but four of the Fever's 44 regular-season games. She posted 16.1 points and eight rebounds per game before representing Team USA in its gold-medal World Cup run.
But that workload caught up with her in the postseason.
Boston recently confirmed she would sit out the 2027 Unrivaled season to prioritize a full recovery. With a contract that keeps her in Indiana until 2029, the Fever has plenty of time to get Boston back at full strength for the long haul.
