Jonquel Jones made a statement in her return to the Sun, leading the team to a commanding 90-71 win over the Mystics on Tuesday night.
The Connecticut forward missed five games while representing Bosnia and Herzegovina in the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket tournament this month. In her emphatic return to the WNBA, Jones recorded 23 points, 16 rebounds and four assists, including a double-double in the first half alone.

Connecticut had five players score in double figures Tuesday night. Jasmine Thomas knocked down a career-high seven 3-pointers to finish with 21 points.

The Mystics struggled with only six players available against the Sun due to injuries. Elena Delle Donne, Myisha Hines-Allen, Erica McCall and Natasha Cloud were all sidelined for the game. Alysha Clark also remains out for the season with a foot injury.
