The Phoenix Mercury and Chicago Sky game ended in dramatic fashion Tuesday night.
With less than two seconds left on the clock, and the Sky up by two, Kia Nurse drained a miraculous shot from half-court, securing Phoenix an 84-83 win at the buzzer.

Nurse’s herculean effort closed out an impressive 14-3 fourth-quarter run by the Mercury. Down by ten points with just over three minutes to play, defensive stops kept Phoenix in the game.
“We fought our way back, and we gave ourselves a chance to win that game, and we did,” Nurse said after the win.
Skylar Diggins-Smith led scoring for the Mercury with 24 points, adding five assists and three rebounds. Tuesday was Diggins-Smith’s second consecutive game scoring over 20 points. Nurse contributed 18 points as well, with five three-pointers, shooting 55.6 percent from long range.

Diamond DeShields had a massive night for the Sky, putting up 26 points and four rebounds, while Courtney Vandersloot added 17 points.
Unable to hold off Phoenix down the stretch, the Sky fell to 2-5 on the season. The Mercury picked up their second consecutive win with Tuesday night’s thriller, advancing to 4-3.
The Sky have a chance to redeem themselves Thursday night as both teams face off again, this time in Phoenix.
