In her first year with LSU, Mulkey managed to turn the team around from a 9-13 season in 2020-2021 to a 26-6 season in 2021-2022. The remarkable improvement marks the greatest turnaround in SEC history.
The Tigers finished second in the SEC and ninth in the last AP poll, posting the school’s first 25-win season since 2008.
Mulkey is only the third coach in history to receive the AP honor three times, joining Muffet McGraw and Geno Auriemma.
