The game’s lone goal came in the 38th minute, with Meredith Speck rifling in a loose ball past Gotham’s keeper to put North Carolina up 1-0.

The Courage move to second in the NWSL standings with 21 points, sitting above Gotham FC and Chicago with 20 points.
Next up: North Carolina will host the Chicago Red Stars, and Gotham FC will face off against Racing Louisville on August 15.
