Georgia Amoore scored a career-high 25 points in Thursday's Mystics vs Mercury matchup, powering Washington past Phoenix 80-73 despite a historic night for Kahleah Copper. Amoore hit six 3-pointers — also a career best — with 16 of those points coming in the fourth quarter.

However, Washington trailed 63-53 with just over eight minutes left before the second-year standout went to work.
The Mystics put together a 17-2 run to turn a 10-point deficit into a five-point lead. Amoore then hit back-to-back threes to push it to 78-73 with 1:18 remaining, before Betnijah Laney-Hamilton closed it out at the free-throw line with 28.1 seconds left.
Fellow Mysics sophomore Kiki Iriafen added 20 points and 12 rebounds for her 19th double-double this season.

Even so, Kahleah Copper gave the Phoenix Mercury everything she had. She finished with 35 points on 13-of-22 shooting. Along the way, she became the fastest player in franchise history to reach 2,000 points, one game quicker than WNBA legend Diana Taurasi.
With the win, the Washington Mystics improved to 24-15, moving into sixth place in the WNBA standings and completing a 3-0 series regular-season sweep against the Mercury.
They next face the LA Sparks on Friday night at 10 PM ET on ION.
