South Carolina star forward Aliyah Boston missed the second half of the team’s game on Sunday after a hard fall late in the second quarter.
The reigning Player of the Year and Most Outstanding Player of last year’s NCAA tournament, was fouled and took several moments to get up. She then missed the two foul shots, ran down the floor on defense and was subbed out by Dawn Staley.
Midway through the third quarter, Boston rejoined her team on the bench with a boot on her right foot.
On the post-game radio show, South Carolina assistant coach Jolette Law said that it might not be serious. While Boston twisted it a bit, the coach said that Boston told her she was “good.” Head coach Staley, meanwhile, said her status is questionable but the team doctor wasn’t too concerned about the injury.
So far this season, Boston has averaged 13 points and 10.6 rebounds en route to a 5-0 start with South Carolina. On Sunday, Boston had six points and four rebounds before going down with her injury.
