The good news is that Iowa may not be without Caitlin Clark for long – if at all.

Clark was injured in Iowa’s loss to Kansas State on Thursday, twisting her ankle during the final play of the game. She’s had problems with the same ankle earlier in the season, rolling it in Iowa’s season opener on Nov. 7.

On Thursday, she was helped off the court before leaving the arena of her own volition with the ankle taped.

The junior guard, who is also the reigning Big Ten player of the year, is currently listed as day-to-day. She’s set to be reassessed on Saturday, with the Hawkeyes saying that they plan for her to play on Sunday against Belmont.

Clark led Division I in scoring last season, averaging 27 points per game. Through four games this season, she’s averaging 25.3 points per game, which ranks eighth in the country. She had 27 points in Iowa’s loss on Thursday, which followed up a season-high 28 points at Drake.
