Nebraska volleyball swept Northwestern 3-0 on Thursday, stretching the Huskers' regular-season win streak to 49 matches. With the victory, Nebraska improved to a perfect 18-0 overall and 7-0 in scheduled Big Ten play.
Husker Volleyball Too Dominant for Northwestern Wildcats
The gap between the two teams showed early at Welsh-Ryan Arena as Nebraska limited Northwestern to a .030 hitting percentage while posting a .287 clip of its own.
Andi Jackson led the way with 10 kills on .600 hitting and six blocks, her eighth consecutive outing north of .350. Meanwhile senior Bergen Reilly kept the offense moving with 39 assists, seven digs, and three blocks. The Huskers also blanked Northwestern 9-0 at the service line.
And things only got worse for the Wildcats as the match went on.
After rattling off eight unanswered points to take the first set 25-17, Nebraska pulled away through the final two frames 25-14 and 25-15. Skyler Pierce and Gabby DiVita provided a lift off the bench down the stretch, with DiVita recording the final point of the night.
