Purdue volleyball swept No. 12 Texas A&M volleyball 27-25, 25-23, 25-20 on Tuesday at Mackey Arena. The No. 14 Boilermakers never let the defending national champions settle, pulling ahead late in each set. The matched opened the Big Ten-SEC Challenge week, as the NCAA volleyball titans settled the score in front of more than 10,000 fans.
Purdue Volleyball Outlast Texas A&M in Each Set
Taylor Anderson finished with 36 assists and seven blocks, adding five kills on seven clean swings from the setter spot. Addy Tindall converted at a .536 rate over 28 attempts from the outside. And Kate Hansen matched that efficiency at .545 with seven kills and six blocks.
"She was the Taylor that we need," head coach Dave Shondell said of Anderson. "She was fabulous." He pointed to Tindall's progression, too: "She's playing like a third-year outside hitter."
Purdue's offense clicked at a collective .388 rate, and that consistency kept Texas A&M volleyball from finding a strong foothold. Only nine points separated the two programs over three sets, yet the Aggies never led late. The loss moves Texas A&M to 3-3.
The victory also gave Shondell a personal milestone as he passed Gene Keady to sit atop Purdue's all-time wins list.
