The WNBA’s travel woes continue, this time with the New York Liberty stuck on the runway Thursday.

The travel accommodations of players has long been under contention in the WNBA. The new collective bargaining agreement stipulates that “all air travel provided by the Team will be …premium economy,” a slight step up from the requirement that players travel coach in the previous CBA.
Additionally, players now get their own rooms on road trips.
But that doesn’t stop teams from being held up by delays, which the Liberty felt in full force as New York fell victim to intense rain and flash flooding.
No way we stuck on this plane on the runway….supposed to take off at 2 and it’s 3:21— Jazmine Jones (@Jazmine_Jones4) July 8, 2021

Eventually the team made it to Indianapolis for their Friday game at 7 p.m., but only after finding a same-day flight early in the morning.Â
