Paige Bueckers has her sights set on the WNBA, with the UConn star telling Renee Montgomery that playing in the league is her dream.
The 20-year-old guard sat down with Montgomery for a wide-ranging discussion as a part of CBS Sports Network’s We Need To Talk.
“My dream is to get to the League,” said Bueckers. “Like that’s always been a dream of mine, is to play in the WNBA but with my platform and the social media following that I have, I just wanna continue to help this world become a better place as much as I can.”
Bueckers, while quick to commend the caliber of play in the WNBA, also pointed to the league’s off-court commitment to progress as a source of inspiration.
“The W just does amazing things off the court as well. They are really inspiring in that regard. They are always just willing to use their voice no matter how much backlash they get.”

Bueckers is also preoccupied with shining a light on issues she cares about, especially when it comes to her lucrative NIL partnerships.
“Giving back to minorities and people that don’t get the same opportunities as I do,” said Bueckers. “As a white woman in America there’s obviously a lot of white privilege so every deal that I sign…I’m huge on just giving back and spreading light.”
Bueckers is gearing up to start her junior year at UConn in the fall.
