The Chicago Sky got a special phone call on Tuesday from former President Barack Obama following their WNBA Championship celebration in downtown Chicago.

“I just want to let you know that Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and Barack, are all proud as Chicagoans to have World Champs in our neighborhood,” he said before shouting out Candace Parker and WNBA Finals MVP Kahleah Copper.

“I could not be prouder of you guys. Thank you for bringing some joy to the city,” said Obama, who served as an Illinois Senator before he was elected President in 2008.

The Sky won the franchise’s first WNBA championship on Sunday after defeating the Phoenix Mercury in four games.
