Sam Kerr might just be an Australian hero after she helped the Matildas defeat England, 4-3, in a thrilling finish in Tokyo. With the win, Australia advances to the Olympic semifinals for the first time in the country’s history.

Kerr had her hands all over the game Friday, first setting up Alanna Kennedy’s goal that gave Australia a 1-0 lead.

She then added two of her own, first in the 88th minute to send the game into extra time. Kerr scored her second in the 106th minute, giving Australia the lead and tying her with Lisa Devanna for the most goals in the Matildas’ history.

The game was a back-and-forth affair all the way to the end. Ellen White’s hat trick for England ultimately wasn’t enough and their run in Tokyo came to an end.

Australia will next play Sweden in a rematch in the Olympic semifinal on Monday at 7 a.m. ET.
