Portland guard Sarah Ashlee Barker suffered a left leg injury in the first quarter of Wednesday's Wings vs Fire game.
Barker went down near the free-throw lane after delivering a pass that led to Frieda Buhner's 3-pointer. She appeared to plant her left leg awkwardly before tumbling out of bounds.
Afterward, Barker couldn't get up on her own. Teammates and training staff helped her off the floor and into the locker room. The injury appeared to be non-contact, and she didn't return for the rest of the night.
How Sarah Ashlee Barker’s Injury Impacts the Portland Fire Rotation
Before going down, Barker had played just over four minutes for the Fire. She recorded one basket and two assists in that short window.
Still, her early exit left a clear gap in Portland's backcourt. Without her, the Portland Fire could not close the deficit, falling to the Dallas Wings 101-97.
Entering the night, Barker had been averaging 11 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists this season. The former Alabama guard has been a steady contributor since joining the WNBA expansion team.
The Fire haven't shared details on the severity of Barker's injury or a timeline for her return after WNBA All-Star Weekend.
