Sha’Carri Richardson is back on track, as the US sprinter opened her 2026 season with a dominant 100-meter win at Sunday’s LA Grand Prix.
The 26-year-old powered out of the blocks and cruised to a first-place finish in 10.99 seconds. Then, fellow US stars Kayla White posted a season-best 11.08 and Tamari Davis clocked 11.11 to sweep the podium.
Reigning Olympic 100-meter hurdles champion Masai Russell shared the spotlight. The US NCAA record-holder won the women’s 100-meter hurdles with a meet-record 12.26.
Richardson earned 100-meter gold at the 2023 World Championships with a career-best 10.65. She subsequently took silver in the 100-meter and gold in the 4x100-meter relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
"I feel good for it to be a season opener," Richardson said. "I definitely am just prepared to keep training, keep running and just finish out the season stronger than before."
