Trinity Rodman added another impressive performance to a banner rookie season Saturday night, helping Washington to a late 2-1 win over Kansas City.
The 19-year-old striker had a hand in each of the Spirit’s goals, notching an assist and a finish of her own.
Washington went down early against Kansas City, with Amy Rodriguez blasting in a goal from close range in the third minute of the game.

The Spirit’s equalizer wouldn’t come until the 78th minute off a crafty combination between Rodman and Ashley Sanchez. Rodman, while double-teamed, managed to settle a lofted ball at the top of the box before slipping it through for Sanchez, who faked out her defender to slot in Washington’s first goal of the night.

Rodman struck again in stoppage time, getting on the end of a Tori Huster pass up the field before cutting back to her left foot and firing a rocket into the far post.
