No. 2 seed UConn led No. 1 seed N.C. State 34-28 at halftime of their Elite Eight contest in Bridgeport, Conn., but Huskies forward Dorka Juhász left midway through the second quarter with a wrist injury.
After the game, which the Huskies won in double overtime, UConn coach Geno Auriemma said her left wrist “was completely, cleanly fractured and dislocated.”
The 6-foot-5 Hungarian fought for an offensive rebound but crashed to the floor and stayed down in obvious pain. Her teammate Evina Westbrook comforted her in the aftermath of the injury, and the crowd gave her a standing ovation as she left the floor.

Juhász averaged 7.5 points and 5.8 rebounds this season, her first for the Huskies. She transferred to UConn after three years at Ohio State.
She never played in the NCAA tournament with the Buckeyes, but she made up for lost time, posting 10 points and 10 rebounds in the Huskies’ 83-38 win against Mercer in the first round. She had two points and three rebounds before leaving Monday’s game against NC State.

💙 Dorka
“Dorka’s a competitive kid and I love how hard she plays,” UConn coach Gene Auriemma said after the Mercer game. “I love how competitive she is. It never surprises me how hard she works defensively, how hard she works rebounding the ball. That’s probably been the biggest contribution that she’s made to our team.”
