Karolína Muchová and Jakub Menšík claimed the 2026 US Open mixed doubles title on Wednesday night. The Czech pair defeated Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli 6-3, 1-6, [10-6] at Arthur Ashe Stadium, splitting $1 million in prize money.
Mixed Doubled US Open Tournament Draws Top Names
The win came as the mixed doubles US Open event entered its second year under a shortened format.
The USTA moved the draw to the week before singles play begins, hoping to attract top players. Stars like Aryna Sabalenka, Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, and Carlos Alcaraz all entered, but most exited early.
Sabalenka and Djokovic fell in the opening round, as did Jessica Pegula and Taylor Fritz, and Alex Eala and Felix Auger-Aliassime. Williams and Alcaraz made it past the first round, only to get outpaced in the quarterfinals.
Muchová outlasted them all.
Karolína Muchová Adds Another Grand Slam Title to 2026 Season
The 30-year-old and Menšík barely survived their semifinal against Mirra Andreeva and Andrey Rublev, erasing two match points with less than 20 minutes to recover before the final.
In the final match, Muchová helped control the opening set. But Bencic and Cobolli forced a tiebreak by running away with the second. Menšík eventually sealed it with his seventh ace of the night.
For Muchová, the title adds a Grand Slam doubles crown to an already-deep WTA résumé.
