With a 0-0 draw against Australia, the United States women’s national team is on to the knockout stage.

The USWNT has now advanced beyond the group stage for the seventh consecutive Olympics.

Australia dominated possession in the game, controlling the play 61 percent of the time. The Aussies also had 596 total passes to the United States’ 322.

In total, the teams combined for only seven shots on goal.

In one of the lone scoring chances of the day, Alex Morgan sent a header into the back of the net off of a cross from Kelly O’Hara in the 31st minute, but the goal was called back due to offsides.

The U.S., which finished second in the group behind Sweden but ahead of Australia on goal differential, will next face the Netherlands — who they defeated 2-0 in the 2019 World Cup Final — on Friday at 7 a.m. ET.
