Venus Williams and Alexandra Eala will both compete at the 2026 Bad Homburg Open after accepting main draw wildcards — with new reports indicating they're pairing up a partners.
The WTA 500 grass-court tournament in Germany begins June 21st and ends June 27th, serving as the final tune-up before Wimbledon.
Williams and Eala Eye Vital Wimbledon Warm-Up
Five-time Wimbledon singles champion Venus Williams has leaned on wildcards throughout her 2026 season.
The 45-year-old competed at the Australian Open, Madrid Open, and several other WTA Tour stops this year. She has yet to produce a deep run, but Bad Homburg could give her a grass-court opportunity ahead of the London Grand Slam.
The tournament's surface suits her game, too. Williams has built her career on fast courts. Any momentum gained here could carry into Wimbledon.
Eala, meanwhile, is the highest-ranked Filipino player in WTA history after reaching a career-high No. 29 earlier this year. The 20-year-old now gets the chance to test herself on grass against — or with — top contenders.
A result at Bad Homburg could boost her ranking and improve her positioning for Wimbledon entry and seeding.
Świątek, Osaka, and Svitolina Lead Bad Homburg Draw
Along with Williams and Eala, the field at Homburg runs deep.
No. 3 Iga Świątek headlines the draw alongside No. 7 Elina Svitolina, No. 8 Mirra Andreeva, and No. 10 Karolina Muchova. Former Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka and local wild-card Eva Lys round out a loaded draw.
With the 2026 French Open winding down, Homburg represents a last chance warm-up ahead of the season's most-storied major.
