Nurse joined the Mercury in 2021 following a preseason trade with the New York Liberty, averaging 9.5 points and a career-best 3.5 rebounds. She shot 35.3 percent from three-point range, matching her career-high, and led the team with 59 threes made.
During the semifinals in October, Nurse suffered a torn right ACL, effectively ending her season. According to the Mercury, she is continuing to rehab her knee and is expected to return for the upcoming season.
The former 10th overall pick, she has played four seasons in the WNBA, averaging 11.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
The Mercury have gone all out this offseason in the hopes of winning another title in what might be Diana Taurasi’s final season. Nurse will re-join a team that has added Tina Charles and Diamond DeShields on top of Taurasi, Brittney Griner and Skylar Diggins-Smith.
